The Garand Family

I don't even know where to begin with this session! I suppose I should start with this: I had a best friend named Jessica that moved away to Massachusetts before we started 3rd grade. We lost touch for about 10 years until I found her on Facebook. We remained in contact on and off over the years through Facebook. I messaged her when she got married, and she messaged me when I got married a couple of weeks later. She and her husband reached out generously when my husband, Sam, became sick and passed away. Then, in July of this year, she posted a pregnancy announcement with her ultrasound photo. I reached out to her and told her I would LOVE to fly there to reconnect and take maternity photos for her. She was so excited and we began planning the trip.

Well, last week, after 20 years of not seeing her, I flew out there with my boyfriend, Aleric, and had the most incredible time. I honestly can't even put into words how much we enjoyed our trip. I was finally able to meet her husband after seeing photos of him over the years. We had food, we talked, we played games, we took photos... It was almost like 20 years hadn't even passed. It was only a little over a 24-hour trip, unfortunately, but it was one of the most memorable trips I've ever taken, and I'll never forget it. The day we left, I was finally able to feel little Violet move around in her belly. The happiness and love that she already has for her growing peanut is just amazing. I truly cannot wait to go back and meet Violet.

We went to a beautiful Christmas tree farm for their photo session. It was absolutely freezing out, so it was a super-quick session, but the lighting was just gorgeous and we had the whole farm to ourselves. Check out some of my absolute favorite photos below!
