G Family Lifestyle Session

Some of you may remember my blog post and photos from November 2017, where I visited a friend I hadn’t seen in 20 years. She and her husband were expecting their first child and I traveled to Massachusetts to capture their maternity photos.

Well, Aleric and I went back at the beginning of this month to spend time with them and their daughter, Violet! I, of course, brought my camera and captured some magical family moments. The love in their home just seriously makes it burst at the seams, and I love all of them to bits. We already bought our plane tickets for the end of August to spend a 4-day weekend with them. We can’t wait!

Enjoy some of my favorite photos from this mini session!

S+N Wedding

One of my best friends got married this past Saturday and I had the honor of capturing her and her groom getting ready! Stephanie and I have been friends for 13 years and I wanted to be able to enjoy the day with her instead of running around with my camera all day. But, I couldn't pass up the chance to photograph some awesome moments before the wedding.

The ceremony was at the University Bible Fellowship in Chicago, and the reception took place at the Evanston Golf Club in Skokie. The golf club was absolutely gorgeous. The entire venue was just lovely. (Honestly, even the bathrooms were pretty!) The lighting in the room Stephanie got ready in was perfection - a photographer's dream! I hopped over to the house Natan was staying at and snapped some photographs of him and his best man. They were men of little words, but I enjoyed spending time with them!

Check out the images from that beautiful morning below!

O+D Wedding

Oona and Don's wedding took place at the end of September (I just love me some fall weddings). Let me tell you: It was one of the hottest autumn days I can remember! Despite the heat, everything about their day was just amazing.

The ceremony was outdoors at The Wayside Chapel in Palos Park. There was talk about moving it inside the chapel, but I'm glad it was outside (even though it was about 300 degrees). The location was simply gorgeous, and the lighting was so dreamy. It's such a neat little place. Both Oona and Don have children from previous marriages, and they included them in their ceremony, which was truly beautiful. They performed a sand ceremony, where each of the children poured his or her own glass of sand into a larger glass, representing them as one family. I had never seen something like that before, and it was breathtaking.

This couple was just an absolute blessing to work with. Check out some of my favorite moments from their special day!

"B" Family Fall Mini

I don't know about all of you, but fall is my favorite time of year. The temperature is usually wonderful, leaves are changing colors and falling, pumpkins are everywhere, my house smells like autumn-scented candles... I just love it all.

This year, I offered fall minis in our backyard. I purchased a few hay bales and pumpkins and booked my sessions in the late afternoon. The lighting around 5:00 looks amaaazing this time of year! I wanted to show off a few of my favorite photos from the "B" Family from last weekend. All of the kiddos were so sweet and photogenic, and the parents were a joy to work with! I just love my fall mini sessions!
